WH Says the Projected 2.5 Million Jobs Lost Represent Only a ‘Small Percentage’ of the Economy

The Congressional Budget Office’s report that 2.5 million jobs are projected to be lost in the next ten years as a result of Obamacare has sent shockwaves through the country. But according to a White House spokesman, that number isn’t as big a deal as we think it is. When asked by RealClearPolitics reporter Alexis Simendinger about how the ACA will discourage people from working more, spokesman Jason Furman answered that 2.5 million people is “a small percentage of the overall economy” and that that number represents people who are making their own choice to work fewer hours or exit the working population entirely.
