Christian actress Candace Cameron Bure (sister of Kirk Cameron) refused to placate the liberal hosts of “The View” on Tuesday, prompting panel disapproval and a noticeable gasp from one of the show’s hosts. Co-host Raven-Symone started the segment by calling the refusal of Sweet Cakes by Melissa bakery owners to make a cake for a lesbian wedding an act of discrimination, equating it to past discrimination against black people. The former “Full House” actress strongly disagreed. “I think you are comparing apples to oranges here,” Bure said. Bure argued the case isn’t “at all” an act of discrimination, which prompted the apparent gasp from one of the show’s hosts. “This is about freedom of association, it’s about constitutional rights, it’s about First Amendment rights,” Bure said. “We do have the right to still choose who we associate with.” Bakery owners, Aaron and Melissa Klein, were hit with a $135,000 fine for exercising their religious liberty, and ordered by Oregon Labor Commissioner Brad Avakian to stop speaking about the case.
