A South Carolina school district is trying to keep prayer out of school meetings and gatherings. Of course this means students no longer have the liberty to express their religious beliefs. On Saturday, however, Liberty High School’s Valedictorian Roy Costner IV took his “approved” graduation speech to the podium, and in front of the crowd, tore it up.
After thanking his parents, Costner proceeded to recite the Lord’s prayer. “I think most of you will understand when I say, ‘Our Father, who art in heaven…” The crowd began applauding and cheering Costner as he continued the prayer.
