Missouri Media Professor Apologizes After Harassing Reporters at Protest

Among those who were harassing and blocking reporters during the protests on the University of Missouri campus Monday was a professor at Mizzou’s Department of Communications. In a video posted to YouTube, Professor Melissa Click can be seen protesting among students and harassing an ESPN photojorunalist until he left the “no media safe space.” When another student was filming inside the “safe space,” Click approaches him. “You need to get out! You need to get out!” she tells him. “I actually don’t,” he responded simply (and accurately). The University of Missouri posted a statement early tonight from Melissa Click, the communications professor who was caught on video harassing student reporters. In her statement, Click apologizes for her actions and says she spoke to one of the reporters this afternoon. You can read her full statement below:
