Marines Call Out “False Valor” Imposter For Wearing a Fake Military Veteran Uniform

(Content Warning: Language)

A video appeared online Sunday of which two Marines, perhaps retired, grill a man who they believe is an impostor. At first, the conversation remains cordial as the three men leave a military funeral. Eventually the Marines catch the man in one too many lies, ranging from mismatched medals and ribbons, to not knowing proper uniform code. Throughout the conversation the man alternatively refers to himself as a sergeant major, military policeman and special forces operative. “You know that’s called false valor? It is a federal crime for you to be wearing that uniform,” one of the Marines asks the faker, to which he could only respond with a series of expletives.

must be apart of obama,s army….

    • maverickxt

      He’s obama’s general

      • http://www.comcast.net/ Rick

        Or obozo’s something else.

      • Katlady

Well that certainly explains why the military is so screwed up!

  • kenneth shray

    The imposter should be prosecuted.And prosecute,impeach b.h.o. for crimes against humanity,and the U.S.A.. SEMPER-FIDELIS-MARINES

    • rivahmitch

or just left in a gutter somewhere. Semper Fi!

    • Jim

I say we take him out to the edge of town, strip him of that uniform, and make him walk naked through town wearing only a sign that says, “I pretended to be a soldier”.

    • Daniel Gray

Sorry, he should have his azz beat but he cannot be prosecuted as the Supreme Court ruled what he is doing is not against the law.

      • Robert Laity

If it can be shown that he was doing it to gain any profit or benefit he can be prosecuted under the Stolen Valor Act of 2013. It was the SVA of 2005 that was overruled.

        • Daniel Gray

No, sorry. To overturn a US Supreme Court decision the Congress would have had to have 2/3rds of its members of BOTH Houses vote to overturn, and that has never happened. So while Congress passed yet another law, it also cannot be enforced until they overturn the first one as the first one still holds sway for this being illegal.

    • Robert Laity

Actually, Obama has been criminally impersonating the President/CIC for over five years now.
Obama has usurped the Presidency, by fraud, during time of war. That makes Obama a spy under UCMJ S906A106.

      • Daniel Gray

Buy Civilians do not follow the UCMJ and you cannot decide that they have to.

  • mule man

What a f’ing dirt bag–that uniform looks like a rummage sale

    • GrumpyOleMan

I was thinking high school band uniform with a mishmash of dumpster diving off a base somewhere.

    • BurmaShave2

I was thinking of that super dressed up bellhop that has appeared in some funny TV hotel advertisements recently.

  • Katlady

does anyone notice his uniform is a conglomeration off all services? This guy is probably mental at best! Air Force stripes, Army insignia, marine insignia, navy stripes and what are the medals? I’m surprised he doesn’t have a Joint Chiefs of Staff insignia!

    • maverickxt

      Most blacks are mental cases

      • Katlady

What’s with you?? What gives? Who gives a crap about the color of skin except racists?

        • Frank Zappa

It’s an infection that is coming from the Black House in DC. NORMALLY This would not be the issue but Obungo has done such a great job of dividing the country he was just jumping on the wagon.

        • RangerRick

          RACE CARD Warning!! – –
When all else FAILS … toss the 0bama card ……… FOAD, toad!

          • Katlady

            Ain’t that the truth!

        • doctorbob

Back off, Jack! We can take note of his race. Only a Saul Alinsky activist would accuse us of being racists. In fact, Saul Alinsky invented the word “racist” to use as a weapon against his opponents. Congratulations, Slick. You’re following Saul Alinksy! Now F off!

          • Katlady

You are a rather ill informed little wonk aren’t you doc? Can’t interrupt the written word either. My comment was about the race card everyone seems to pull when it’s to their advantage. So, get a clue and F off yourself!

      • Jim

What difference does the skin color make? He would be equally useless if he was white.

        • GrumpyOleMan

          True. But he isn’t.

      • Truth goes 100 MPH

Not cool at all. Seems I remember a few “Brothers” who gave it all back in ’68 Since they can’t speak, I will. Not cool at all.

        • Ted I Lewis

Truth goes, thank you! I also have seen Marines give it all in combat! And have a very close friend that lives 2000 miles from me. Shove my slow ass out of the way of a incoming round! He didn’t check the color of my skin before doing so. And he took the round in my place! There is no color in war. And people best learn that NOW! USMC 1968-FOREVER!

          • Truth goes 100 MPH

Don’t know if anyone said it but Welcome Home Brother.

          • Jim

Ted, you and I both know that in the Marines, we only have ONE color in TWO shades: Light green and dark green! In war, the only color is red (as in blood). He who fights beside me and sheds his blood with me is forever my brother. Black, White, Red, Yellow, Brown, whatever. Semper Fi!

    • doctorbob

I was expecting to see a CMH ribbon! What a fraud! He NEEDS to be arrested for federal crimes! Obviously an Obama voter.

      • Daniel Gray

Ok one more time, while completely wrong, what he is doing is NOT a federal crime.

        • doctorbob

Technically, it is a crime. He is wearing several insignia that only an officer would wear (e.g., the crossed rifles). That means that he’s doing a poor job of impersonating an officer. That’s a crime. Also the ribbons he supposedly earned in combat (for example, the Bronze Star) falls under the category of Stolen Valor, another crime. There’s certainly enough here to imprison this fraud. And he SHOULD be!

          • Daniel Gray

No its not. The US Supreme Court ruled (wrongly in my opinion) that doing this is not illegal and not a crime. As such the law that said it was a crime is now no longer valid and it cannot be enforced. Dont get me wrong, I agree with you and he should have a major azz kicking coming, but he cannot be arrested or prosecuted for doing what he did.

    • Jim

I once saw a photo of a very overweight, bearded, long haired guy wearing a set of Marine Dress Blues with Master Gunnery Sergeant chevrons. If that wasn’t enough, he was also wearing a Navy SEAL badge on the left breast pocket. Talk about WHISKEY TANGO FOXTROT!!

      • Frank Zappa

Never seen a “Fox Trot.” BUT everything else I have seen.

        • Jim

I almost got into trouble at MCRD. Every time the Drill Instructor said “TIN HUT” I wanted to point at the Quonset huts and say, “There they are!”

          • Frank Zappa

Yup I remember those days VERY clearly, as you may have observed there is a little clown in all of us…..Me More so than Most.
            Thanks

          • Jim

I knew my DI would grind me into fine powder if I had pulled that stunt! LOL! I’ll never know how I survived Boot Camp. I was quite the smartass in those days! Of course, not much has changed in THAT department! Good times, Good times!

    • Roger Luman

I can’t begin to describe how screwed up his uniform is. as a 3 war veteran I can tell you that I don’t understand how he wasn’t called out before. you don’t wear a ribbon mount and medals(either or) they are in the wrong place, not centered, bronze star is wrong spot, WOW so many violations. That is a perfect example of false valor and he discredits those who actually earned the awards. The wearing of the Sergeant Major chevrons take the cake.

  • Evermyrtle

John Kerry’s brother, taught by John, the cheap way to get his funnies!!

    • GrumpyOleMan

You mean he’s going to be OUR next Secretary of State?!? Maybe Hil-LIAR-y will want him on her ticket as VP!

  • Ray

This guy is a phony. Anyone that knows anything about Military Insigna knows that the crossed rifles he is wering is a Infantry Officer Insigna and not a enlisted mans.

    • doctorbob

It is really offensive to those of us who earned our uniform and stripes the HARD way. I was an Army E6 (Staff Sergeant), and I earned every last stripe or medal, one by one! That this jerk comes along wearing Sergeant Major’s stripes is REALLY offensive to me and all veterans! And he’s MUCH too young to have earned Sergeant Major stripes! He looks like he went online to one of those military decorations sites and just ordered a box full of miscellaneous goo-gahs and assembled them into something resembling a uniform of some sort.. He NEEDS to be arrested for impersonating some sort of officer!

      • USVoter

That is a hollywood uniform – not an actual uniform. I love watching these guys grill this impostor.

        for your service Sarge.

      • Frank Zappa

No more offensive than Obungo allowing Illegals come across the border so they can rape pillage and plunder American resources. Like everything else in this country NO ACTION will be taken by military official’s because the military that we once served in is no longer the same service. Former SSG. US Army. 1970 to 1977.

    • Charlie 6

You are absolutely correct. He is wearing both Officer Insignia AND enlisted man’s Sergeant Major stripes. He is obviously too young (and apparently too stupid) to be a Sergeant Major. I hope his license plate was reported and followed up on.

      • John OMalia

        Fake plates.

        • Roger Luman

I had to show the DMV my DD form 214 to get the plates I have so they have to be fake.

    • John Beam

You’re right. I hadn’t noticed that, but his uniform is so freaking busy with insignia, you can go dizzy trying to make sense of it. I guess I need to sit down and get reoriented…

    • Mathematical certainty

      Ray, good eye!

    • Jim

He was also wearing Officer lapel insignia and his stripes show enlisted man and everyone knows that you do not mix them; well almost everyone ….what a fake !!!!!! Aren’t hash marks worn on one sleeve only? The name tag’s lower edge should not drop below the seam of the pocket either. The ribbon above the name tag is not centered and I am not sure that that ribbon should even be there over the name tag. What they should really do is if they want to play soldier then conscript them into the military and drop their asses into a combat zone. Watch how fast they dump the pretense.

      • Frank Zappa

More like they dump a load in their pants, without any pretense. When the bullets are flying soldiers are dying.

  • Wm. A. “Bill” Fisher

He looks like a young Idi Amin, and it looks like his medals are just as false and self-bestowed.

  • maverickxt

    Sounds like obama

    • Mathematical certainty

obama indicated “He could be my son”!

  • doctorbob

The errors in that uniform were numerous and pathetic. Officer’s crossed rifles, combat stripes on BOTH sides of his sleeves, Sergeant Major stripes with an officer’s pair of pants, on and on. Clearly he’s a FRAUD! He should be arrested for impersonating an officer/sergeant/whatver the he11!

  • Holy Joe

In my Army days the wearing of false decorations and medals was punishable by three months in the pokey – and quite rightly so.That guy’s uniform and decorations were straight out of a vaudeville act.

  • ofag

    typical ***** person leaching everyone

  • John Beam

OMG…That guy’s probably in his early 30’s, and he’s a SERGEANT FREAKING MAJOR??? That would be hilarious if it weren’t utterly pathetic. I hope they throw his ass in Leavenworth with PFC Bergdahl when they’ve court marshaled HIS butt crack!

    • doctorbob

Sergeants Major are old, grizzly guys who know their way around a coffee pot, who look like a Deuce and a Half drove across their face. Their ribbons will include their service at the Battle of Little Big Horn. They have a bottle of Maalox on their desk, and they have a “too danged tired” look permanently etched on their faces. They will be happy to tell you about their hemorrhoid operation while you are trying to eat your lunch. If you argue with them about a regulation, they will snort and bellow, “don’t try to tell me about that regulation! I WROTE that regulation!” They know how to chew up Lieutenants and spit them out. They are not to be trifled with! This guy doesn’t even come close!

      • Jim

I had a Sergeant Major in the Marines who I swear enlisted at Tun Tavern! When he spoke it was like the Word coming from the burning bush. When he walked into the room, all present snapped to attention and didn’t dare to even breathe. As I said in an earlier comment, this clown on the video is NOT, nor will he ever BE, a Sergeant Major.

      • John Beam

I like your description. All of it doesn’t apply to all SGM’s, but a lot of it applies to the vast majority of ‘em.

  • Jim

The posers and wannabes are coming out in droves. A day doesn’t go by that I don’t meet a “Navy SEAL”, “Green Beret”, “Airborne Ranger”, etc. These guys are obviously suffering from an inferiority complex and the crave attention. As a veteran I don’t know whether to laugh in their faces or shake my head in disgust. However, I haven’t as yet ran into one who was wearing the uniform. These scumbags are a special kind of sh_tbird. They get these uniforms and decorations at the local surplus store or they order them online. These items should be restricted just like police badges and IDs are. If it was up to me, a person would only be able to buy uniforms, decorations, badges, and insignia from certain sources. Even then they would be required to show paperwork proving that they were entitled to be in possession of said items. The punishment should also fit the crime. People who get caught impersonating members of the military should be sentenced to community service at the local VA hospital, mopping and emptying bedpans while wearing a sign around the neck that states something to the effect of, “I pretended to be a soldier. I am the lowest lifeform on Earth.”

    • Daniel Gray

I agree. When I was at the local VAMC being fitted for my ankle braces I heard the guy in the next exam table over claiming all kinds of stuff. But what caught my attention was when he claimed to be in the same unit I was in. I pulled the curtain back and stuck out my hand and said “Death From Above!” and he gave me a strange look. Anyone with Airborne training would know that saying. So I asked him when he served and he gave me a cock-n-bull story. And I asked him who his commanding Officer was, and he told me. I just nodded. Then he walked out. Once he was out of earshot, I called the nurse over and told her I wanted to speak with the manager of the department. When the department manager came over I told him he had a fraud that was just here. I showed him my military ID and my unit on my wallet size DD214 and then told him how I knew this guy was a fake.
      1. He said he was 101st Airborne and was at Ft. Leonard Wood MO. All SF/Airborne know that the 101st Airborne is at Ft.Campbell Ky.
      2. He said he took his Airborne training at Ft Sill Ok, when ALL Airborne/SF soldiers know it is only taken at Ft Benning GA
      3. The Officer he claimed was his commanding officer, was nothing more then a 90 day wonder, or a platoon officer.
      4. And the place he said he was injured at…not hardly. The 101st didnt go to that place until 10 YEARS after he claimed he was there. And that was in the Middle East.

The VA got hold of him and told him they wanted to see his DD214 and his medical records. I guess he knew the jig was up as he vanished and nobody has seen him since.

      • Jim

WOW! That was a nervy move on his part, seeking treatment at the VA when he was probably not entitled. I say probably because when they asked to see his paperwork he bolted. If he had the papers, he would have just smiled and presented them. Who is working the door at this VAMC? At ours, you can’t get a toe in the door with proper paperwork.
Thank you for your service. My Dad was in the 101st in Vietnam and I have massive amounts of respect for all my fellow vets, both past and present.

    • GoldenRudy

But today, the imposters get elected to congress in the Democrat Party! I.E., Blumenthal from CT, elected senator after admitting lying. And a traitor like Kerry as SecState!

      • Jim

Don’t even get me started on Kerry! He did a “token” tour in Vietnam (WAY less than the 365 tour that other Vietnam Vets did) mainly because he was a scion of a wealthy New England family. When he returned to the World, he hooked up with Hanoi Jane and proceeded to bad mouth the troops all while making a handsome profit from his activities. The arrogant ass had the stones to give an encore performance during his run for president, but the American people weren’t buying his BS anymore so he lost. Now he has snuck in through the side door as part of obama’s cabinet.
As for the imposters getting elected, you are right on again! Unfortunately, this creates a culture of lies and deception where people begin to follow the example of the “elected officials” and pretend to be something they are not.

  • http://americaisboiling.com/ frog-out-of-kettle

The guy was blinged out for a costume ball. I think he is an imposter based on what I saw in the video.

  • dandeman

You can tell almost immediately, this guy is a fake. What a slob uniform. I’m not a military guy, but live in a military town working with a lot of “real” soldiers. He’s lucky these guys let him off easy.

  • Old Salt

First thing that struck me was…too young for the number of hash marks on his sleeve.

    • John Beam

yup…too young, officer’s insignia on his collars, his attitude is WAY too casual (a REAL Army SGM would have been a hard-ass–I’ve never seen one that wasn’t).

      • Jim

I’ve never seen a Sergeant Major that didn’t have snow on the roof or a heavily crease face. It comes with the rank.

        • John Beam

Yes, and they speak loudly and directly, with no “uhhh’s”. That guy’s speech was like a SGM who’d been drugged to the point of near unconsciousness.

          • Jim

You said it! As the Marine in the video said, “If you were a real Sergeant Major, you wouldn’t be walking away.” This individual is as much a Sergeant Major as my grandmother.

          • John Beam

I’ll bet your grandmother has a truckload more self-respect and honor than that clown.

          • Jim

Right on! My grandmother, God rest her soul, was a lot like the Drill Instructors I had at MCRD San Diego. She was strict and tough and her word was the FINAL word! As for Sergeant Majors, I feared them in the Marines and to this day when I see one I still want to snap to attention. Most of it was the way they carried themselves, as you pointed out. This clown in the video is not, nor has ever been, a soldier, much less a Sergeant Major. If it wasn’t so pitiful it would be comical.

          • John Beam

I was in the Army myself, but I imagine SGM’s in all branches pretty much carry themselves similarly. There were sergeants of other grades that I would have different opinions of, and they varied from like/dislike or respected/despised, but I NEVER met a SGM that I didn’t have the utmost respect for. They were always the true leaders of the regiments.

          • Tricia65

It doesn’t end when they retire, either…

          • John Beam

I’d never want to have one for a relative, but I never knew one that I didn’t have a lot of respect for.

          • Tricia65

I’ve been through umpteen deployments and moves, 2 kids, arguments, not knowing, tears, worrying, compromising, etc… And, I still have to catch my breath when that man walks in a room, after 30 years.

        • GoldenRudy

In tomorrow’s Obama Army (DoD) they will have eye shadow, lip gloss, a “rainbow” ribbon, and a sashay in their step. And that will be just those claiming to be male!

      • Old Salt

I can see maybe putting a uniform like that together so he can pose for a photo remake of the cover on “Sgt. Peppers Lonely Heartsclub Band.” I was kind of waiting for those Marines to ask which of those medals would be on his DD214 or his “glines” form…lol. Imposters are easy to trip up because there’s certain things that only “troop” would know…no matter what branch.

        • John Beam

“…photo remake of the cover on “Sgt. Peppers Lonely Heartsclub Band.”” : D That’s a good one!

          • Old Salt

Thought I’d gitcha’ with that….”I’m here all week folks…tickets are on sale at the box office!” TA DUMP–BANG! See ya next time a bum pops up!

  • caprock

Yah, if obama had a son, he would be this guy! Just the fact that you can see chevrons and infantry officer insignia in the same photo tells you this guy is a px hero! Maybe he was on his way to clown school?

  • MildBill

Most likely just following orders from his boss, the FAKE POTUS, the fake Commander-in-Chief, Obama bin Lyin’ ! . . . . He looks like he’s all dressed up and on his way to a Michael Jackson concert !

  • Mathematical certainty

Typical dumb-ass buffoon. The dummy could not find Iraq or Afghanistan if he were dropped into each. Scum like this that impersonate real soldiers should be incarcerated or better yet placed on the front lines.

    • Mathematical certainty

In addition, his expletives are so typical of most blacks when challenged about the truth.

  • monacall

His sick. Dead give away. Never wear medals and ribbons together.
What a fake a wanna be!

  • Justin

Surprised those jar heads (all due respect) didn’t pound that poser right there.

“Doesn’t do PT”…sheesh…what a f***tard. My SGM could run any one of us into the ground and not break a sweat.

  • garyg1919

Is this Dick head one of Connecticut senator Bloomingdale ‘ minions? If you can lie about your service in Vietnam and still get elected to the Senate, there’s no end to these fake bastards.

  • Phil Bronner

They ought to take cockroaches like this…put them on a plane….fly them to Afghanistan…deplane them, transfer them to a blackhawk…fly them into the hinterlands, give them an M-16 and a 30 round mag….and boot them out…..They wanna be “heroes”, so be it!!

    • Jim

  • URICK010

He’s as big a phony as Obozo.

  • trketed

He’s wearing an officer’s crossed rifles in lieu of the round EM brass. No EM is allowed to wear any officer insignia.

  • Sandy

unreal….good job, Marines! The guy had Marine sharpshooter badges on as well as a Phillipine Defense medal? Is he “reincarnated”? This guy needs to be prosecuted….what a disgrace. I’d say send this to Don Shipley, but he has his hands full with fake SEALs.

    • Frank Zappa

Good luck getting a prosecution. When Obungo let’s Fag’s and Transgender ‘ s into the military they will let anyone get away with anything.

      • Sandy

yep, but many have been prosecuted….I’ve busted two outright who were trying to use their “status” to secure gov contracts..couldn’t believe their audacity…one guy claimed he was “one of us” when we were there in uniform, then he proceeded to tell us he was also a “strategic weapons officer” on submarines and had a PhD in physics….after questioning him for 15 mins, and asked him his BUD/S Class, to wit, he said: “well, that was a long time ago” (BS Flag), we told the manufacturer of a project we were on to get rid of him – they protested loudly until they found out his PhD was non-existent…they fired him eventually..sick individual….Don Shipley has busted many…you should google his youtube videos – some are pretty funny….Don is the quintessential SEAL Chief Petty Officer! No BS with him! GOD Bless….

    • Jim

Don will post this turd’s picture and profile in the Hall of Shame. I’ve been to the site and there are posers from every branch on there.

  • TonysTake

    If Obama had a son…

  • Robert L Nipper

I think what might be going on here is the Obama Regime has so alienated themselves from our REAL military personnel that they are having to find fake soldiers to attend events. It was very obvious this guy didn’t have a clue what he was talking about. Ever ask a soldier what company he was in? They respond back with pride and dignity. This dweeb had neither

  • PatHenry

I hope they trace this guy down and arrest the phoney sac o sht

  • barry1817

I think the supreme weighed in on this and said it is fine to lie and deceive by wearing what is not earned/merited by service to country. So said that we now let people lie, and by doing so diminishes those that actually served.

    • Jim

I disagree about this diminishing those that actually served. Those that actually serve will always be magnified in the eyes of true patriotic Americans, and no amount of fakery can diminish it. Fakers are always exposed because they may “talk the talk” but they can NEVER “walk the walk”. Only those who have been there can do that. However, it IS an insult to all veterans everywhere when scuzzbags like this one play dress-up with their surplus store bought gear and then parade it around in public. What REALLY frosts me is that this sleeze actually had the nerve to wear his OBVIOUSLY fake uniform to a military FUNERAL!! WHAT GIVES WITH THAT, and why didn’t someone stop him at the door? I guarantee that if I had been there I would have, and then we would have stepped outside for a LITTLE “CHAT” about how wrong it is to wear things to which you are not entitled!
If it was up to me there would be a law that prevented uniforms, insignia, medals, awards, badges, etc. from being sold at the local surplus store. We need to restrict these items to a few outlets and those who wish to purchase said items need to show some paperwork that proves they are entitled to be in possession of these items.

      • barry1817

Jim wrong to do this morally and ethically, but when the court ruled that it is fine, they did such a huge disservice to this country and to the founding principles.

        best to you.

        • Jim

I’m sorry, I misread your post. I’d like to amend my answer: You are absolutely CORRECT that the ruling diminishes the honor of those of us who actually served, somewhat. I still maintain that any patriotic American will be able to see through such an obvious charade such as the one being perpetrated in the video.

          • barry1817

Jim, thank you for your amended post. have a good day

  • Neal Avery

Yes, He has on Sgt. Major Chevrons, Infantry Officers brass. Definitely a fake.

  • Neal Avery

He had on a Silver Star, Bronze Star and Combat Infantryman’s Badge. If he lived in New York, Charles Schumer would get him veterans benefits, because he used to wear the uniform.

I don’t think this guy was ever even IN the Army. If he had been he would have at least had some basic knowledge about how to put a uniform together. Come on, I learned all that stuff in Boot Camp.

  • Brickshooter

Need to dispatch a couple of Holder’s goons from the Injustice Department. These two (white) patriots are obviously racists. The Seargent Major could be Obama’s son.

  • GrumpyOleMan

I loved the part where he recited the Boy Scout pledge when asked about uniform code! LOL, OBozo’s army for sure!

Enlisted with Officer Insignia, metals with the Same ribbon, SGM in less that 18 years Possible but unlikely Slime Ball

  • SIRWIZARD

This idiot was wearing officer’s branch and U.S. insignia on his lapels and had enlisted man’s uniform coat and stripes on. His medals were not even close to being properly worn. His military bearing was non-existent. Any army soldier would’ve spotted him in a micro-second because they know Army rules and regulations.. Good job, marines. It took you only a little longer, but you caught him. Too bad you didn’t have time for a little GI Party. I really hate to see phonies trying to be battle hardened heroes.

  • TheBitterClinger1

Read “Stolen Valor”; the problem is old from Hollyweird fakers to at least one Iowa Senator to the local loser.

  • MR AR50

This guy obviously has a few loose screws, and needs some kind of help/therapy. The Marines showed a great deal of restraint by not kicking his ass on the spot, and are to be commended.

  • Daniel Gray

Sgt Major of what? His stripes on his sleeve are wrong. His ribbons are wrong, his b-cap is wrong. The Bronze Star with a V is wrong as well as this means he was in combat and it was given to him then. The badge below his right blouse pocket is for Drill Sgts. And he is wearing a low award for shooting and then he is also wearing a experts badge for rifles. He claimed to be an Officer, and yet he is wearing Sgt Major rank?

This man is a complete fraud. But there was one thing said in this that is false. It is not illegal nor is it a federal crime to wear a uniform and make claims like this fraud. In United States v. Alvarez,
No. 11-210, a highly anticipated First Amendment case, the Court held six to three that the Stolen Valor Act is unconstitutional. The Stolen Valor Act, 18 U.S.C. § 704, makes it a federal crime to lie about having received a military decoration or medal, punishable by up to a year in prison if the offense involved the military’s highest honors. The key issue in this case is whether knowingly false statements of fact – made without any apparent intent to defraud – are a protected form of speech,
and if so, what level of protection they deserve.Justice Kennedy announced a plurality opinion
    – joined by the Chief Justice, Justice Ginsburg, and Justice Sotomayor –and concluding that the Stolen Valor Act infringes on protected speech. The plurality reasoned that, with only narrow exceptions, content-based restrictions on speech face strict scrutiny, and are therefore almost
always unconstitutional. False statements of fact do not fall within one of these exceptions, and so the Stolen Valor Act can survive strict scrutiny only if it is narrowly tailored to a compelling government interest. The Court concluded that the Stolen Valor Act is unconstitutional because the Government had not shown that the statute is necessary to protect the integrity of the system of military honors –the interest the Government had identified in support of the Act.

So while he completely disgusts me, other then beating his arse, there is nothing that can be done against him. And this is one decision that the Supreme Court made that I disagree completely with. When we Vets go out and are wounded or harmed in the pursuit of our duty, I get VERY upset when you have posers like this guy trying to ride our coat tails.

I am with you completely and I couldn’t have said it better myself. The only medal that I know is illegal to possess, wear, or display by those who haven’t earned it is the Congressional Medal of Honor. The only exception is that if you are the next of kin of someone who was awarded the MoH posthumously you may possess and/or display it but you cannot wear it under any circumstances. I was told by my grandfather, a WWII vet, that it was illegal to wear, possess, or display medals and/or ribbons that you didn’t earn. However, I get conflicting answers from the statutes I have consulted. If it isn’t illegal it needs to be. As far as the Supremes defending the wearing of uniforms, insignia, awards, etc. by undeserving parties as part of their “free speech” rights, how about those of us vets exercising OUR free speech rights and kicking their butts and stripping them of all their insignia on the spot?
I am a Marine vet and I once saw one of my brethren rip a pair of Marine chevrons off the sleeves of a punk kid pretender. The kid also got a generous portion of butt whoop from the Marine. If this happened more often I guarantee punks like this one would think twice before parading around in public wearing such a ridiculous uniform as this guy did.

      • Daniel Gray

Dang straight. And we should also “remind” The fools on the Supreme
Court exactly what we did to EARN these awards and then put them in the
same place we were in. Wanna bet they change their minds or start crying
for their mommies. As the old saying goes, “to expect respect, you have
        to give respect”

        • Jim

On the other hand, what do you expect from the same bunch who decided that burning the US flag was protected by the 1st Amendment?

          • Daniel Gray

            Agreed.

  • COL DRH (ret)

This is what we get with this bunch in Washington; a surplus store warrior. The ONLY thing correct on his uniform was his shirt & tie.

  • luciteehee

How VERY sad! 0’Bama has given the black men NOTHING to look UP to, nothing to take pride in, nothing to motivate, encourage, and/or build self-confidence in themselves! The parts of his past history that HAS been disclosed has shown that he liked drugs and booze! Since becoming President he’s mostly talked with little real accomplishments that others hadn’t done the hard work first! Words without beneficial action is worse than no action at all! This President threw away the chance of a lifetime! Instead of USING the black Communities as paving stones on his way to our White House, he could have united us, did for them what he PROMISED,as an Organizer (organizing them to riot and protest) and we would NOT have the chaos, resentment, racism, destruction, and unrest we see in our Country today! Without respect for our Leaders, why would we want to trust or emulate them? The Marines did the RIGHT thing by confronting this man! I have three sons, two retired Military, one Vet, two grandchildren who served four times in Iraq. “False Valor” is as it SHOULD be, a Federal crime! Yet in my heart I can’t help but feel that for awhile, this young man was “someone important”! Someone he could only pretend he was! Maybe the Marines touched something in him that made him realize that God made him special, and he did not HAVE to settle for “false valor”! I sincerely pray that he will succeed in whatever he does!

I saw a blue infantry cord but no blue back ground the all of it was in disarray nothing neat and in order if he had been In the every thing would have bee in the right spot this was clearly not a person In the military you can spot a military man a mile away even if they haven’t been in in awhile they carry themselves different

  • bet1125

He needs to vastly improve his lying skills. I’d recommend watching some of King Sadim’s speeches and/or press conferences to get a feel for how a pro does it.

  • GoldenRudy

Sickening. What else can be said? I was told years ago that any piece of uniform that had official insignia, buttons, etc. were not to be worn outside of official uniform requirements. That meant even the buttons with the Air Force insignia had to be removed prior to giving the official AF topcoat, aka “the horse blanket”, to a charity for someone to use. Sickening.

    • Jim

That is true. Before you can sell your gear to a surplus store or give your jacket to your honey, all insignia has to be removed. Civilians are not allowed to wear military insignia except under certain circumstances, such as parades, re-enactments, plays, and so forth. If these characters want to wear the uniform so badly, they should enlist and come by their gear honestly. That’s assuming that any of these posers would be able to hack it. I seriously doubt it, though.

  • Traci

He will be one of Obama’s minions… a yes man!

  • MrBillinTX

The guy is a complete fraud! I DOS’d from the USAF in 1969 and EVEN I know you don’t wear US medals (the bronze Star and the Purple heart specifically) with ribbons! Didn’t see for sure if there was National Defense ribbon, but there could have been. He ought to be in jail!

  • Samurai_Sam

Pretty common to see fakes these days since BO has set the precedent! This guy has all the qualifications as our dear leader! I think this imposter meant to say he was special farces’ not forces.

Those medals are as legitimate as Obama’s Nobel prize and birth certificate!

  • Jim

    How to spot a faker:
    1. They always claim to be special forces or high ranking NCOs or Officers.
    2. The uniform is always “not quite right” or, as in this case, completely jacked up.
    3. Hesitates when answering questions or tells unconvincing lies. Answers don’t pass the “smell” test.
    4. Is obviously too young to have been all that he/she says they were. Example: A “Sergeant Major” who is in his mid-30s.
    5. Incorrect or mismatched insignia, awards, etc.
    6. Is unfamiliar with common military jargon or slang. Example: “Yeah, my DOD date is AOL, you know how that is…”
    7. Dodges certain questions by claiming old age, memory loss, etc.
    8. Overly decorated. Example: layers of medals and/or ribbons, several badges or awards, etc.
    9. Fails to present him or herself properly. Look for body language that suggests that the subject is uncomfortable, evasive, etc.
    10. Cannot produce DD-214 or other paperwork. Gives excuses such as, “it was destroyed in a fire”, I lost it during a move”, “My ex has it”, “It’s top secret”, etc. All vets know that copies of your paperwork can be obtained online and the “top secret” dodge is pure baloney.

    • Jim

I forgot to mention one other obvious red flag. If the janitor at your local pool hall or the guy who puts out butter at Dennys tells you that he was Special Forces Recon and a CIA operative (I actually SAW this one!), he most definitely IS LYING THROUGH HIS TEETH!

  • willhen50

The picture alone shows he is not right somewhere, medals with ribbons don’t think so. Sgt major and he looked so young. Blacks love to overdo their ostentatiousness. This guy must have been trying to impress someone I would say his rank is General Screwup.

    • Karl Noel

He should be demoted to Major Headcase, and is lucky the real vets didn’t demote him to Corporal Punishment.

  • Remington 870

This guy is delusional and no doubt living in a fantasy world. He certainly represents the kind of soldier obama wants to promote. How Flucking pathetic! Wonder why many of us vets are angry?

  • golface12949

Rip off the uniform and make him walk home in his underware with a sign ” Military Imposter”

  • Charles Temm

ask him if he’s an officer or senior NCO!

waste of time to talk to such fools, they are posers and revel in the attention that they didn’t earn

drill sgt? Wonder if he went to Officer basic/NCO Yahoo school too

    • Jim

He probably wasn’t even IN the military. The way that uniform looks it is more of a parody than anything else. This is something you would expect to see on Saturday Night Live. This guy obviously never served a day. If he had even been through basic training he would have learned how to properly wear the uniform as well as correct placement of decorations and badges. This is one jacked-up individual.

  • Chief

The uniform looks like an amalgam of Air Force Army and Marine ingredients. The guy is an obvious fake.

  • grammy23

What a disgrace. My father fought and nearly died and rec’d the Bronze Star back in Korea. Now you can buy them online. These wannabe’s should be put into Boot Camp as their “sentence” because I doubt they could make it and would break down the first time a DI yelled at them. To all of you Servicemen out there, Thank you for all you have done, all of your sacrifices.

    • Jim

These walking stool samples don’t deserve the honor and privilege of serving. I’d like to see them all emptying bedpans and cleaning up puke at the VA hospital. But then, they don’t deserve THAT honor, either.

  • Robert Laity

The Stolen Valor Act of 2013.

  • Jim

I’ll just say one more thing. If you are reading this and you’re a pretender, beware. Eventually you WILL be exposed for the fraud you are. When that happens, all your pitiful lies will catch up with you and you WILL pay. Whether you are parading around in a phony uniform or just shooting off your mouth and spouting BS stories to all who will listen, your time is coming. Someone somewhere will KNOW you for the liar and fraud that you are. Your best bet is to get rid of your costume and cease and desist while you still can. If you persist with your disrespectful charade, you WILL be called out. If I am the one who calls you out it WON’T BE PLEASANT!! You have been given fair warning.

  • http://www.facebook.com/Orrie461 Orrie Froloff

The man has an identity problem so he makes one up to get attention. As he parades around in his fake uniform and boasting he is a war hero stealing the glory for himself and from those who fought and died in battle. Men like him are a disgrace as an American.

  • Ernest_T

Way too young to be a Sergeant major. A Sergeant Major would definitely know AR 670.1.

  • Karl Noel

It’s no excuse for what he did, but at least his wanting to be mistaken for military is a sign that America has returned to some measure of respect for service men and women since the anti-military left’s war on veterans peaked in the early 70’s.

  • Conservativesniper

Should have beat this sonofabitch into unconsciousness and then had him arrested.Gold teeth are not approved for wear in uniform.
