Krauthammer: ‘I Will Be Unrestrained,’ Harry Reid Was a ‘Disgrace’ to the Senate

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid announced his retirement from the Senate today (with a replacement already lined up), and it’s a safe bet many conservatives aren’t exactly sad to see him go. Case in point, Charles Krauthammer, who had some pretty strong words for Reid over his leadership. He said, “Harry, we hardly knew ye. And what we did know, we didn’t like.” But beyond that, Krauthammer decided to “dance on the grave” of Reid’s “political death.” He didn’t object to Reid’s partisanship, but to this: “He was a disgrace to his own institution because he emasculated it in the name of protecting the president and trying to re elect Democrats. He didn’t succeed because he essentially shut down the Senate as soon as Republicans took the House in 2010.”
