Hillary Clinton Repeats 3-Word Claim Over & Over When Confronted on Email Scandal

Hillary Clinton apologized for making a “choice that has resulted in this kind of situation” when pressed about her private email scandal during a “Today” show town hall event on Monday, but was more evasive when asked if she understands “how bad it looks” to the average American. Guthrie first confronted Clinton for both claiming she regrets her decision to use private email exclusively and blaming Republicans for trying to stoke the flames of controversy to hurt her politically. “I guess my question to you is, which is it? If you’re blaming the Republicans, some might wonder how genuine is that apology?” the anchor asked. Clinton argued it’s “both.” “I mean, I’m sorry that I made a choice that has resulted in this kind of situation, and I’ve said I’ve made a mistake,” the Democratic presidential candidate added. “Obviously if I had to do it over again, I wouldn’t. It was allowed and everybody has confirmed that. But it’s also, as we now know very clearly, the way that the Republicans are trying to bring my– as they admit– poll numbers down.” After hearing Clinton repeatedly claim that her private email use was “allowed,” Guthrie noted the fact that her email conduct is “really not encouraged” by the government. “Do you get how bad it looks?” Guthrie pressed. Clinton repeated her previous statement once again: “It was allowed.”
