Controversy After Viral Video Shows Molten Aluminum Poured Down Ant Hill

An amazing sculpture is made by pouring molten aluminum into a fire ant colony. The resulting cast is huge, weighing 17.9 lbs. and reaching a depth of 18 inches. AntHillArt has added the following message to the description of the video on youtube: “I disabled comments because I’m sick of your bickering. Also, I couldn’t get YouTube to stop sending me an email every time someone posted “What if I poured aluminum in your house.” for the 100th time.” Seriously? Does anyone think it was wrong for the individual to pour molten aluminum down an ant hill?

  • hausman69

Need to do that for the killer bees too.

  • Mikebark

    Wouldn’t poison be more effective?

    • bahndon

poison also poisons the soil !!!1

  • buckofama2010

We need to fill the Rio Grande with molten metal and end the illegal parasite invasion

    • Beedogs

Or perhaps the white house and halls of congress?

      • frhrwa

that would be cool.. fill the Washington DC area when Congress is in full session and beavis and butthead are there too.. get the entire lot of idiots..

    • bahndon

      Alligators would do nicely !!!!

  • sooner4ever

Wow, a new way to kill those sorry SOBs. That looks like great fun, and after all, fire ant killing is a lot of fun.

  • DustyFae

Made a beautiful art work. looks like a tree…

  • dnav

Tie them to a chair over a fire ant hill for 15 minutes and see if they’d be for the molten aluminum!

  • nick

hey if you have ever stepped in or on a fire ant mound, you would have no sympathy for the little b–t–ds. they swarm your feet, bite like hell and leave lots of itchy painful pus filled pimples. some people have a real bad reaction to them.

    • Shorty Stuff

I pour gasoline or kerosene down the fire ant mounds myself. Wait a few seconds, then light them up. It’s better at night. That gives the libtards ammunition to ban gasoline.

      • johnrich

        Haha .. “libtards”. LOL

      • rwp24382

I don’t have fire ants, but have a lot of carpenter, red, and black ants. One thing I found for those in the ground is bleach. Give them a little shot of that and there is one hill that I have not had any in a few years. Those that live for a few seconds are always doing the back stroke for their duration.

  • Swed

Very cool. there are too many unemployable nut jobs out there.
Sand Casting at it’s most interesting.
Almost as complex as Lightning Glass.
Less dangerous to the environment than Pesticides and quite beautiful.

  • MaranathaMark

The molten aluminum killed the ants instantly, unlike an insecticide. So what’s the big deal?

The same Libtarded idiots who are upset by this video are probably also radical pro-abortionists.

  • Matt

These same crybabies are probably pro-choice.

I have o problem with pouring molten aluminum down ANY hole but I am a believer in pro-choice. No one should have the right to dictate their beliefs on another individual and tell them they must comply. This is the problem with Liberals, they want someone else to take care of them (the government, who cannot handle anything responsibly) and for no one to have any more then they have, even if they were willing to work harder and make sacrifices.

      • phxrcf

How is dismembering a child in the womb NOT imposing one’s beliefs on him or her? It is a legitimate function of government to protect the fundamental human rights of all people. The right to life is first and foremost. Abortion is a barbaric practice that must stop if our society is to survive.

        • Robert Haavisto

Here we go again….another liberal wanting to impose “their” beliefs on every one else!

      • 1PRAYS4U

God dictates His beliefs on us and somewhat expects us to comply! All the man made ideas I agree with questioning!

  • Matt

These things sell on eBay for over $4k.

  • TheSunDidIt

    Gasoline is also fun.

  • bahndon

Thank you, I encountered the bitting critters in 1954 when my mother sat me on an ant hill in Arizona, she had to remove my diaper and all my clothes to get all of them off me. I was 2 years old and still remember it like it was yesterday !!!!

  • Rocketman

They’ll be a hot time in the old town tonight!

  • robocop33

I think that this is beautiful and artistic! I could care less if some nutcase is worried about killing fire ants, let him get bitten by a unch of them and he will not be so sympathetic towards them. I think this is real art and the guy that did this is to be commended!

  • The_American_Way

There has got to be a cheaper way to get rid of the ants.

    • PeaverBogart

There is a lot of cheaper ways to get rid of them, gasoline and a match for one. But he wasn’t just trying to get rid of them, He was making art. The guy that originally done this was studying ants and wanted to make a model of their tunnels and such.

    • chetohimler

Well, think about it…If the purpose is to kill the ants, then you can re-melt the aluminum and do again and again… know, like recycle.

  • parlayer

    That smoke had to be any bodies?? although the piece looks fantastic;

  • CaptGene

What is “controversial” about this? I think he showed GREAT initiative for what is a unique art form!

  • PFG

COOL! When we were kids we used to put fire crackers in ant hills, but this sway better.

  • disqus_2AF1QOhOSp

Maybe if they would’ve been bitten by these fire ants, they’d sing a different tune. I was in Yuma (AZ) years ago and received bites. They can be deadly to a small child.

  • Dragon

VERY COOL, But, who has 18 lbs of aluminum and has anyone ever melted that much? How long does it take?

  • John Beam

Any way you can kill those little bastards is fine with me. If there was enough aluminum to pour into every one of their holes, I’d be for burning all of them to death using this horrifying method.

  • Davidm

Would be nice if it were a fire ant or crazy ant nest as well

  • chetohimler

Obama’s Electricity producing windmills are killing hundreds of birds including the beloved American Bald Eagle.

  • Ken Bowman

Extremely interesting and educational! Was told by my mother when I was 4 years old I stomped on a fire ant hill so mad at them to kill them all.

  • bob machaffy

  • smartgranny55

  • phxrcf

    Beautiful piece of art.

  • Daniel F. Melton

Anyone who has had a fire ant attack can really appreciate the termination of a colony by such a method. I used hot motor oil.

  • Lynne

    I want this

  • David Taylor

Fire Ants are an invasive non-native insect that is pushing out the native ants and many other native creatures that belong here.

  • Fothergillgirl

I guess the libs would hate my exterminator. Could care less!

  • ChantelleMoore

    Obama thronesniffers.

  • Anonymous

Oy vey remember the 16 trillions ants who died in the antocaust!

  • The Quadfather

    Die ants die!

  • Combat Veteran Seabee

Let the criers get stung and watch them change their tune! Fire ants are an invasive species anway, with no known pedators in this country, they came fro South America!!
