‘A soldier in a holy war’: Prosecutor gives opening statement in Boston Marathon bombing trial

Describing suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev as ‘a soldier in a holy war against Americans,’ prosecutors made opening statements Wednesday morning in the Boston Marathon bombing trial.

Assistant U.S. Attorney WilliamWeinreb told the court that Tsarnaev was radicalized over a two-year period and believed that the U.S. was an enemy of Muslims.

Weinreb went into graphic details, explaining how innocent victims bled to death as a result of the April 15, 2013, marathon bombing.
