State Dept. Using Taxpayer Dollars to Refurbish Mosques in the Middle East

In this Atlanta television newscast, we learn that the State Department is sending hundreds of millions of tax dollars to the middle east to rebuild mosques.

      Separation of church and state is a myth. It is nowhere in our Constitution, nor the Bill of Rights. This principle evolved from a letter from Thomas Jefferson to the King of England trying to inform him that if the power of his postion as the leader of the church didn’t relent on it positions, the church as known, would collapse.

          All the restrictions are placed on government. There are nor restictions against religion petitioning, lobbying or attempting to influence government. Religions have all the same rights under the Constitution and the “Bill of Rights” as any one else.

    this is part of why Obama doesn’t want to have a budget. They don’t want to have to be accountable for anything they say or do. We the people need to press our Congressional representatives and Senators about this. Look at the people in NY (Staten Island, Coastal New York City and LI.). How long have these people been waiting for refurbishing? They are still off as bad as they were weeks ago. FEMA is absent it seems and the empty trailers they have are not being used to house these homeless people. Taxes are supposed to go for this type of help, not to mosques, or anything else in Europe or Asia………America first! I find it hard to believe the coldness of this president who is going off to spend a month on vacation in Hawaii (at our expense I’m sure) while American citizens suffer. He reminds me of some of the leaderships in the Middle East, Egypt, and others. High living while the peasants suffer. WAKE UP America! We the people do have the say, use it and shake up your Congress people with phone calls….enough calls do work….light up those switchboards.

Pardon my ignorance, but why is the State Department funding this? and are the foreign aid monies we send all over the world controlled by the State Department? If so, emails and phone calls, letters and pickets should let our House of Reps know we’re really ticked off! Whether this is old news or not, this idiocy must stop!! We’ve donated to every country, friend or foe for many years. We’ve shed our military’s blood on foreign soil for years, and that stopped being valuable with WWII and possibly Korea. Now our own government is bleeding us dry! Why do the young men and women all over the world take a stand in the streets, but not us??

    everyone can moan and groan and gripe about how ridiculous this is but what are you doing about it? i wrote to my congressman and told him to reign in this irresponsible spending and fight to keep this from happening. i needed to ask him why obama is sending 1.3 billion dollars worth of weapons to egypt. it’s good to get it out of our systems writing comments on these sites, but maybe it would do a lot more good for everyone to write to their congressmen and senators. right now this is about the only avenue we have. let them know how you feel.

My question is has congress really recognized that the State Department is doing this, and if so why hasn’t it stopped it? Congress has to allocate the funds, otherwise this expenditure is illegal.

    What the hell does the United States taxpayers receive from these Foreign Aid programs in any form. All foreign Aid in all forms should be immediately stopped even to Israel. If a nation can’t make it on their own with their own tax structures in place then need to go under. American Taxpayers should not be forced to fund all of the nations the world in the form of Foreign Aid, the American taxpayers do not receive any benefits of any kind from giving our money to any foreign nation. If private individuals wish to give money to foreign nations then they should do it all on their own without any taxpayers money involved at all.
