    Why don’t they just bring their lunch to school? I bring mine every day to work. They don’t have to go hungry if they just use their brains.

      There are actually some schools out there taking away the lunches brought from home because they are not considered nutritious enough and do not follow the “guidelines”.

        Yes, there are school “police” doing that and then charging the parents for the school lunches! What makes Michelle an expert in dietetics and the nutrition needs of active children? What makes Obama think he can mandate whether fast food restaurants give “big gulp” cups when they actually offer free refills anyway? The food police need to go somewhere and get a real life. We ought to be free to eat what we want when we want to eat – and it isn’t the government’s biz. i fed my children nutritious food and neither of them was overweight, but they didn’t lack the energy to get through their day either and both of them were plenty active, played hard and slept well at night. The government does NOT own our children! But that’s the motive behind all this nonsense – it is simply usurping parental rights which began when the Fed department of education was initiated – suddenly the gov thought they had a right to teach our children any old doctrine they wanted and to mandate what could and could NOT be taught from their lofty perches in D.C. Shame on us for letting it happen way back then – we are reaping the results of not putting a stop to government overreach a very long time ago!

    If my 16 yo daughter, who has 2 hours of Field Hockey every day and then 2 hours of Soccer Practice 3x a week, and last year had PE on top of that was forced to eat only 850 calories at lunch, she would probably kill me….before she passed out from malnutrition and exhaustion. Don’t even get me started on what my very active 13yo son would do to me!

    No children, you can’t have burgers/fries/ice cream. Don’t watch us as we eat all our burgers/fries/ice cream daily. When these communist fools start eating the same way, then we might ‘think’ about it. Michelle and Obama and her kids are always seen eating the same foods they try to tell us we can’t eat. November is getting closer and hopefully they don’t ‘steal’ the election again!
