  You are right, my dear friend from Poland said “you think you will like socialism (communism) but you live in a capitalist society, so it is easy to like something you have not lived.” He moved to the U.S. BTW as soon as he was old enough to leave home, he is working on becoming a citizen AND he has opened a business…something he said he could not have done back home. And he loves America so much that when his grandfather was ill and passed away he did not go back home, he was afraid he could not get back in the country it was right after 9-11-2001. His family supported his decision. Now that speaks volumes of how great our country really is. WE can defeat 0bama.

They are one of the top paid teachers groups in the nation yet they have one of the shortest school day and has the least amount of days per year. (My daughters goes to high school (Texas ) has 7 1/2 hours each day yet Chicago’s HS are only 6 hours each day). Any wonder they have a 40% drop out rate.

Honestly, I don’t understand how a group of collage educated people like teachers need an outside organization, a union, to speak for them. I had worked at a company years ago which had an employees union after about two years a bid came up on the day shift, I bid on the position, I had been working a night shift at the time, and was awarded the position, the union fought my being given the position claiming there were men with more seniority who had bid for the position. The company fought the union and I was given the position on my ability to do the job over the seniority of others who had bid on it. I found out early in life that I didn’t need any one else to do my talking for me and that the union was a hinderence to my working hard for a promotion. The union was good at protecting the jobs of the slackers, those that were habitualy late and the drinkers. These, I found, were the ones who gladly payed weekly union dues so as to protect their weekly paycheck. When I left that position, I never worked for a company with a union again and did quite well for myself right up until the time I retired.

In addition to this demand, they dislike the prospect of being subjected to periodic review of their teaching abilities. Add to the list of what they are demanding, is more and better Medical and Hospitilization benefits. I remember when “The National Air Traffic Controllers went out on strike; most
of the Nations Air Ports were shut down or seriously limited in air travel. The Air traffic Controllers wanted less work and more money. President Reagan quickly addressed the situation and told the workers to get back to work or be fired.
They opted to test President Reagen’s resolve, and they were all fired. Not only were thy fired, it was decided that they would no longer be able to work under a collective bargaining Union …ever.
It is time to take charge of our hired hands that do those things that need doing; like Teachers, Firemen, Policemen, Garbage Collectors..etc…etc.
If we allow the asylum to be run by the inmates…how stooopid is that????
