Is Todd Akin Trying to Redefine ‘Legitimate Rape’?

U.S. Rep. Todd Akin, who won Missouri’s GOP Senate primary earlier this month and will face incumbent Democratic Sen. Claire McCaskill in November’s general election, said Sunday that he misspoke when he claimed “legitimate rape” rarely resulted in pregnancy.

The answer to your question is NO!…leave this guy alone. He misspoke only because he is strongly against abortion, as many of us are…the only problem this comment does is temporarily changes the subject, much to the liberals glee…stand up, stand behind him and stop throwing him under the bus….the left has said things much worse than this…stop putting words in his mouth and get back to the real problems of this country.

I was not shocked or outraged by Atkin’s remarks about rape, but I was puzzled. What did he mean, and what did he intend to mean? And what about those actions that the body allegedly takes? What actions? Very strange. Why hasn’t he taken the opportunity to explain his remarks?

Hello!!! the difference between rape and legitimate rape is when the women becomes pregnant through her actions and in order to hide the facts yells rape. Legitinate rape involves a criminal action that can be proven. Get a grip people, we know this happens all the time.

Brenda, I believe you took the word’s right out of my mouth, I was going to say that, Legit rape, if there is such a thing, is when the perpitrator is found guilty in a court of Law, by a Jury of his peers.

Was the Congressman saying that some rapes are actually the real thiing because the viictim really didn not want that to happen. He called it legitimate rape — the real thing. Did he really try to re-define what rape is?

So if I’m raped and guy is not convicted I was not raped. Wow didn’t know that. So shout this loud and clear so all women know what y mean. That’s awesome for the commie liberals anyway. Y guys are totally amazing. I always heard “good” girls don’t get raped. Isn’t that what Todd meant.

An illegitimate rape would be like the woman who accused the Duke lacross players of rape. The only comment Akin made that made me raise my eyebrows was the one about a woman’s body shutting down prevent a preganancy in the case of rape. While some people may beiieve this to be true, I have ever seen any evidence presented to prove it. I do know of a woman in my hometown who was raped in the early sixities and became pregnant. She kept the child and actually became the light of her life. Even though he was conceived in a a violent act, he was a gentle soul who truly loved and cared for his mother.

Ask any woman trying to get pregnant if stress is affecting it, and she will say yes. So are people saying that stress doesn’t inhibit pregnancy or that being raped isn’t stressful?
