CBS News Admits to Not Covering Chick-fil-a Appreciation Day

Today at Chick-fil-a’s Appreciation Day, citizen journalist Jonathan Sampson caught CBS News admitting to biased media ‘gatekeeping’ by not shooting the event once they found out it was not a protest.

Well, CBS just outed themselves as NOT being a news source if they didn’t know about Appreciation Day! And we’re supposed to believe they will post news when the admit they not only don’t know what is going on, but since it doesn’t meet the leftist agenda, they’ll refuse to cover it? I thought the media was supposed to inform us of what is happening in our cities and country! According to then, only if it promotes Hussein’s hate on Christianity and American values.

So – CBS is not interested in positive things….now we know. Once in a while it is good to see happy people on the news instead of violence…..

  • http://www.facebook.com/gregbeaty Greg T Beaty

I will not watch CBS ever again and I ask all Americans to stop watching CBS. We do not need them since they only report news they want use to see. Again say no to CBS, I have.

  • Engineer313

Thats O.K., I do’t watch CBS, or any of the other Left News outfits. I try and find the truth in the stories I read, and we never find it there.

    • wannahug

Am with you all the way, for it is not worth watching (CBS or any Liberal Leftist Cable Channel) for I am as well for fair and balanced and truthful news! GOD help America :o )!

  • daveveselenak

Would you expect anything less from the secularist, state-run media? It is time for the Christians to prepare for battle or be persecuted, prosecuted and eventually put to death. It is happening around the world and has made it to our shores. This is just the beginning, believe me. It is time to start fighting back against this communist regime!

  • http://www.facebook.com/gary.moscowitz Gary Moscowitz

Simply stated, Chick-fil-a appreciation day does not serve their liberal left wing bias. They are only interested in 1st ammendment rights when they feel they have the right to say anything they want. Such as carrying the story about 2 city mayors using their official offices to attempt financial harm on a company merely because the CEO’s views differ from their liberal views. Regardless of one’s particular political views, don’t we all want to know the truth? Don’t we want to know what’s really going on in the world? When the liberal media sees little to gain off of a political story, they choose to ignore it. How is that different from the old USSR and their gov’t newspaper Pravda? The only news they carry was what they and the Communist leaders wanted the people to know. CBS, ABC and especially NBC are our Pravdas!

  • nilonilo

Who cares, I don’t watch CBS News anyway. I want to know the truth, not biased blogging.

These libral stations will do and say anything to protect this mad man. Come November, how will a landslide of voters against their hero be written?

    • oldtimer

it won’t. they intend for Obamnation to be “elected” by hook or crook. see how they are covering up all the “back door” executive orders that Obama signs. He has stated several times he won’t take no for an answer, He will go in the back door under the radar. How is that for supporting our constitution?

  • fedupwidit

everyone should totally boycott NBC ABC CBS and especially CNN, they are nothing but a giant fountain of misinformation…

  • Prry Bluu

i quit watching the networks when obama got elected

About 10 years back, I got tired of getting angry at obviously biased news coverage and stopped watching any news but Fox. They’re not perfect, either, but they’re not obviously trying to promote the liberal agenda. Which, I suppose, is why liberals hate them.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Anita-Eitmann/100000450497995 Anita Eitmann

Of course you wouldn’t cover something like this you liberal, socialist, communist idiot. Are there anymore Christian Conservatice Small Businesses you want to boycott? Bring it on. Oh, by the way the dying Tea Party Organized this through Glen Beck, Sean Hannity, and Good Ole Boy Rush. Also the dead Tea Party got another one of ours into politics, Ted Cruz in Texas. What you liberals can’t seem to get is that people are now getting wise to you and you are failing on all points? Keep it up and thank you for your help with the dead Tea Party.

  • JacktheFAC

In Vietnam we referred to them as the Communist Broadcasting System. Sounds like the name still sticks.

As one Vietnam Conflict Veteran to another, WELCOME HOME! (Hope this, in small part, helps to make up for the anti-Veteran “welcome” we received from our fellow Americans upon our return from Southeast Asia.)

Thanks brother. “WELCOME HOME.” I was an Air Force Forward Air Controller (enlisted). I spent a lot of time on the ground with the grunts talking to the “fast movers,” what time I wasn’t serving as backseat observer in an O-1 Birddog.

  • Graywolf12

Did I not read where they had wall to wall coverage of the OWS protests? What a bunch of road apples in the media today. They did not cover Glenn Beck at the Restoring Love event. I did not think that was a protest. Tell the DA__ truth, if it is not 100% for Obama just skip it.

  • Graywolf12

Did I not read where they covered OWS protests wall to wall? If it is not in support of Obama 100% just ignore it. Tell the truth, and forget the PC crap. They did not cover the Glenn Beck Restoring Love event. I did not see any protests in that event. Oh well, it was not what they want so skip it. Free press, NO, controlled by regime.

  • vietnamvet1971

Does this Surprise any Christian, I do not watch or Listen to the Liberal/Slanted news any ways. It is so Stupid.

  • Deepizzaguy

Calling CBS News where are you? Oh there you are hiding under a rock pile. See you later. Ha ha ha.

  • Candyman238

I knew this was gonna happen when Chick-fil-A first announced an appreciation day to show support for their stance against same sex marriage.
We have seen the media coverage (or lack of) concerning Obama’s illegal status as president so this should come as no surprise to anyone. When I read the story about Chick-fil-A, the first thing I did was to go to their website and give them written support. Then last Saturday, my son and I went to the Chick-fil-A here in Bakersfield and supported them by eating way too much chicken. They do serve a good product and I felt a sense of pride supporting them. I understand that today, our Chick-fil-A has had a line of people out into the parking lot for most of the afternoon, waiting to support them (and yes eat some great chicken). I would also like to add that it is 102 degrees in that parking lot today. I’m sure we all realize there are far more Christians than gays in the world, and events like this just prove it. Amazing CBS doesn’t realize that. I would also mention our local ABC station did carry the event here in Bakersfield. I bet you a piece of Chick-fil-A chicken (although I don’t gamble) that the national news services cover the gay kiss-in “protest” this Friday. I am going to make an effort to attend this Friday so perhaps I might talk some sense into a lot of misguided people. Maybe even tell them the story of the “Three Bears”. Maybe they forgot the part about poppa bear being a male bear and mama bear being a female bear. GOD BLESS AMERICA

    • Spikeygrrl

Candyman: One does not have to be a Christian to support our Constitutionally-guaranteed rights to freedom of speech and religion.

So why, as an atheist, do I support Chick-fil-A? The answer is in these famous words from Pastor Martin Niemöller, anti-Nazi activist and Holocaust survivor: “First they came for the communists, and I didn’t speak out because I wasn’t a communist. Then they came for the trade unionists, and I didn’t speak out because I wasn’t a trade unionist. Then they came for the Jews, and I didn’t speak out because I wasn’t a Jew. Then they came for me and there was no one left to speak out for me.”

Today they’re coming for Chick-fil-A. Tomorrow they may come for me. Or for YOU.

      • Candyman238

As a Christian and a patriot, I support Chick-fil-A for their Christian values and beliefs, and their stand against same sex marriage. In this case, Chick-fil-A, a Christian owned business, is being threatened by various state officials because they exercised their right of free speech.
I agree, one does not have to be, or not be, Christian to support Chick-fil-A, but his statement was based on his Christian belief about marriage. Mr. Cathy has not said he would refuse to serve gays nor has he challenged their belief in same sex marriage. All he did was make a statement on his beliefs. For that, a protest is scheduled for Friday.
If I may ask you, as an atheist, do you support traditional Christian marriage or same sex marriage?
May I also ask, with all due respect, if you are an atheist, then why are you quoting the words of a Pastor, a man of God, which you as an atheist, don’t believe in?
One thing I believe we both agree upon is “Tomorrow they may come for you and for me”.
I appreciate your comment and look forward to hearing from you again. Lord bless you.
        GOD BLESS AMERICA

Again, Candyman, Spikeygirl is right. The Chick-Fil-A Corporation does not have this stance because they do not discriminate in either their hiring pracitices or those they serve. Mr. Cathy, the CEO of Chick-Fil-A simply stated his beliefs. This was in support of this business, not because of the CEO’s religious views but the fact that Rahm Emanual and Thomas Menino (mayors of Chicago and Boston respectively) stated that the business was not welcome in their cities because the CEO stated his views. This turned into a Constitutional issue when Rahm and Tom did this. I support Chick-Fil-A and their 1st Amendment rights. Whether or not you support the views of Mr. Cathy, the question really is do you support the Constitution.

          • Candyman238

I beg to differ with you because before this became a Constitutional issue, it was an issue based on the religious beliefs and statements of Mr. Cathy. The show of support day on Wed. August 1st, was a show of support for his Christian belief on marriage. Between the time of his statement and the day of support on Aug 1st,the mayors statements made this a Constitutional issue. However Mr. Cathy has not made this a Constitutional issue. The people standing in line were Christians supporting a Christian business and it’s owners Christian beliefs. I have watched the interviews as well as spoken with management at both the local business as well as on their corporate website.
I am not disagreeing that this has become a Constitutional issue, I am supporting Mr. Cathy’s religious views, which are based on his religious belief against same sex marriage. Not once has Mr. Cathy, or anyone affiliated with Chick-fil-A said this is based on his Constitutional views but on his religious views. That is the issue Mr. Cathy, myself, and millions of Christians are supporting.
I’m sorry your statement “This was in support of this business not because of his religious views” could not be farther from the truth. That is exactly what it is about. Is a there a Constitutional violation of his 1st amendment right by both Emanual and Menino? Yes by all means. Are they just a couple of liberal loud mouths? Yes by all means. Will the law allow them to do what they are threatening? Not at all. But are these the issues Mr. Cathy is concerned with? NO!
Why, because of his faith in God and faith in the Constitution.
I thank you for you reply and assure you, I do support the Constitution of the United States. Lord bless you.
            GOD BLESS AMERICA

          • Spikeygrrl

Candyman: If you are willing (as you seem to be) to disdain ANY of your natural allies at the ballot box — specifically, conservative “likely voters” — simply because they do not share your religious beliefs, then “God” HELP America. We’ll need it more than ever to survive the next four Obama years.

        • Spikeygrrl

“If I may ask you, as an atheist, do you support traditional Christian marriage or same sex marriage?
May I also ask, with all due respect, if you are an atheist, then why are you quoting the words of a Pastor, a man of God, which you as an atheist, don’t believe in?”

Two good questions; I hope to give you two good answers.

          1) I support ANY marriage paradigm which includes both sexes. I am descended from religious polygamists (4-5 generations back), and believe that the historical paradigm of polygamy (one man married to more than one woman, without any HINT of bisexuality among the women) is the most WORKABLE arrangement for which Human evolution has suited us. (Pssssst: There’s “God”-sanctioned polygamy ALL OVER the Bible!)
          2) Why do I quote a professional religious? A) Because that just might make otherwise unreasonable Christians actually pay attention. Evidently that tactic is working–because YOU are paying attention! B) Since when does common sense about Human nature require religious beliefs — of ANY religion, let alone only one specific religion? I HAIL COMMON SENSE wherever I find it!

And FYI, though your question does not require this answer, I happen to believe that religion — again, no SPECIFIC religion, rather religion in general — has done a lot of good in the world. How else to teach moral philosophy to good-hearted persons whose IQ just isn’t up to parsing moral philosophy unaided/unread? Those good-hearted folks need a set of rules for how to treat their fellow Humans, and religion frequently provides that.

There is NOTHING in the Judeo-Christian MORAL canon with which I fundamentally disagree…EXCEPT “making it all about ‘God.’” I believe that Living The Good Life — by which I mean the MORAL life — need not depend upon the reward or punishment which supposedly earns you from imaginary supernatural beings.

          Clearer? I hope so!

          • Candyman238

First of all, I seem to feel a sense a attack in your words, and in a discussion such as this, I don’t quite understand why.
Let me combine answers to both your flaming comments in this one post if I may.
It is not my intention to look down on anyone as that would be judging them, which is not for me to do. Judgement belongs to the Father and in as much as I am not perfect, I do attempt to follow the teachings of God as much as possible. As for “natural allies at the ballot box”, come on, allies hardly ever share the same beliefs, especially religion. They work together to achieve a common goal. In WW2, the Americans and the Russians shared nothing in common other than to rid the world of Germany. In fact, we hated each other. But as allies, we did accomplish our common goal.
If I have allies which are truly conservative, they should be more than a “likely voter”. No American should be a “likely voter”. Yes, I do hope God saves America, and I believe he is more than an “imaginary supernatural being” because otherwise, we haven’t got a prayer. I don’t want another four years of Obama. I don’t think this country will survive another four years of Obama.
Is the hatred you have in your heart for people that worship and believe in God because you can’t see the light? You say you don’t disagree with Christian morals yet turn around and insult the IQ’s of those that practice those same morals you agree with. I believe God’s word is what the “Judeo-Christian Moral canon” is isn’t it? How is it that you agree with it yet profess not to believe in God? You yourself said you were an atheist – one not believing in God.
Since you seem to be an “FYI” type of person, which evidently impresses you, I am not. I will however dig deep to give you a few “FYI” statements so maybe we can find some kind of common ground to work on.
FYI- Now as far as “God- sanctioned polygamy ALL OVER the Bible” I have next to me a King James version Bible and polygamy isn’t even listed in the Concordance so I don’t know which Bible you found that in. Sin is mentioned all over the Bible but that doesn’t make acceptable in the eyes of God or “God-sanctioned .”
FYI- Any married man that looks upon another woman other than his WIFE, not wives, is guilty of adultery in the eves of God and at last glance, that was one of God’s 10 Commandments.
FYI- There are those of us who believe in God as something more than an “imaginary supernatural being”. I profess and believe in the world of God not because I have an IQ not up to “parsing moral philosophy”. The teachings of God are learned by people with any IQ level. That’s the beauty of it.
The difference between you and I is I am one of those “good-hearted folks” and you don’t appear to be one of those “good-hearted folks”.
I am not here to judge you, hate you, insult you, or call you names. I do seek to be a natural ally to you in the fight we have before us. I believe we share a common goal to get Obama out of the White House and save this country. It is my belief we will need the help of God to achieve this goal. You do not believe that, then so be it.
If you choose not to work with me then so be it. I have no requirements or conditions in asking you to be a natural ally and ask the same from you.
I do appreciate you and your time in voicing your beliefs to me, and I will say you are an impressive person. I do hope to maybe understand you better. Oh, and you throw a good jab! Lord bless you and yours.
            GOD BLESS AMERICA

          • Spikeygrrl

“No American should be a ‘likely voter.’”

REALLY???? Wow. It totally fries my brain that you’d see anything positive in ANY American not choosing to exercise his or her right to vote.

Either that or you are simply misinformed about the meaning of “likely voter” as pollsters employ this demographic Term of Art. A “likely voter” is someone who is 1) eligible to register to vote, 2) has already registered to vote, and 3) has a history of voting in “all or almost all” elections at the state and national level for which he or she has been eligible and registered to vote. This is the most reliable sample pool for any political poll. Next down the sample-pool quality line are “registered voters,” followed (distantly) by “eligible voters.”

          • Candyman238

Look, what’s your problem? I won’t comment on your brain being fried. The statement no American voter should be a likely voter LITERALLY means or in the literal sense that I am using it, that I think every American should be a full time, constant voter that exercises his or her right to vote every opportunity he or she has to do so. I did not use likely voter as a demographic term of art. I will say thank you for educating me to the term.
            GOD BLESS AMERICA

          • Spikeygrrl

WHAT problem? I merely believe that it’s impossible to have a meaningful conversation unless one defines one’sterms.

But please don’t take my word for standard definitions! To help you read political polls more meaningfully (if that’s even an objective for you, which of course I can’t know in advance), here’s a short article from a source you may find more credible.
            http://www.thedailybeast.com/newsweek/2010/10/29/how-to-read-a-political-poll.html

          • Candyman238

I appreciate that we are having meaningful conversation and I will attempt to be more defined in my terms in the future, and for the record, I find you to be a source very credible. Take care.

More Liberal biased media reporting only what will help them re-elect Obama. Nothing Fair & Balanced about them. Boycott these Liberal News orgs. that either edit the news like ABC & MSNBC, or just decide not to report opposing views like CBS and sometimes CNN.
