Obama’s Temporary, Tepid Immigration Fix

A new Obama Administration plan would allow young illegal immigrants to stay in the United States if they:

- Came to the United States under the age of 16.
- Have continuously resided in the United States for a least five years preceding the date of the memorandum and are present in the United States on the date of the memorandum.
- Are currently in school, have graduated from high school, have obtained a general education development certificate, or are an honorably discharged veteran of the Coast Guard or Armed Forces of the United States.
- Have not been convicted of a felony offense, a significant misdemeanor offense, multiple misdemeanor offenses, or otherwise poses a threat to national security or public safety.
- Are not above the age of 30.

    If this immigration “fix” was such a pressing matter for the general welfare of the nation, it should have been done — and done so properly. In this situation, however, Obama has simply done something he believes will help him get votes from the Hispanic community. A president’s authority and responsibility consists only of administering the laws (all the laws) passed by the Congress. To go beyond that or to willfully refuse to do some parts of it, is a violation of his oath of office.It would be difficult to distinguish his actions in this matter from those of a dictator. A benevolent dictator is still a dictator; and, one who can get away with a seemingly benevolent dictatorial act can not be rationally expected to always refrain from dictatorial excesses in other situations, sometimes where the outcome might be far from benevolent or beneficial.The important thing here, though, is not whether certain individuals benefit: It is about replacing representative government with a dictatorship, something only a fool would consider a benefit. It just can not be denied that, in this case, Obama is functioning as a dictator: something that is light years away from the limited power vested in the presidency by the Constitution. This is an extremely dangerous matter for which he should be held accountable: And, this is not the only instance wherein he has acted more like a dictator than a president.

    The Obama camp is indeed transparent on this one. People can see right through his intentions to how it will profit him.

    Nothing “tepid” about unconstitutionally issuing over a million work permits to foreign nationals here illegally, in addition to over 3 million work visas for those foreigners here legally. See:

    People need to stop equating the illegal alien INVASION with immigration.

    An immigrant is a foreigner who enters our country in accordance with IMMIGRATION law; hence: an “immigrant.”

    Whereas, one who sneaks into our country like a Japanese ninja to pillage and plunder it is an INVADER, not an immigrant. And if you call them that then so too were the Nazis who invaded France in WW II.
